Weddings

Lisa and Daniels wedding was our first opportunity to shoot pre ceremony portraits the day before.  It was so cool to capture their reveal in a private little setting on the Avi Golf Course in Laughlin Nevada. I have to mention as you will notice in the pics Lisa wore moccasins down the isle which I think was the coolest thing ever!

On our way to the Avi as we where crossing the Colorado River I spot a plane just docked right outside the island at the Avi, I turn to Jeff and we just both knew we where taking them down there for sure to grab some shots with that fantastic prop plane!!

Lisa and Daniel where just as easy to shoot during this a more stressful time then at their engagement session a few months back.  Check out some of our favorites from Lisa and Daniels portrait session and wedding day!

Ok so Jeff and I where looking forward to shooting this wedding the moment we booked Ashley and Steve.  Not only did their outdoor mountain wedding completely inspire us (as we are outdoor junkies outselves)  but it was their carefree relaxed outlook on their big day!  I can honestly say I never saw one ounce of stress come from Ashley the gorgeous bride not even right before she walked down the isle!! Who can say that?  I thought I was kick back on my wedding day!   Ashley had such a unique style with her bridesmaids and had them all wearing different types of hand-made dresses which made the photo session really unique.  I met up with the ladies in their cabin to shoot some pre-ceremony, getting ready pics and they where all smiles enjoying mimosas and their Ugg boots (that yes they where during the ceremony) so cute that they all got to enjoy being comfortable and being as warm as possible!   The girls where super fun and pretty darn good sports as I ofcourse made them shed their warm coats to get the most out of our picture session.  Jeff was off with the guys on another area of the moutain taking some “man photos” of the groomsmen, some of which you can see here.  The guys where also a great group of easy going ready for anything bunch, which always makes for great photos!  So take note if your planning a wedding and you’ve got some shy or intraverted friends, be sure and pump them up for their photo session as we really work your group to get the best possible images we can!

All the details of Ashley and Steve’s wedding where so unique and simple it was so fun running around photographing all of it.  The complete rustic-ness really set an amazing tone for the whole event.  And who can forget the Smore’s Bar!!!  Ashley and Steve where so much fun and we are really truly thrilled they chose us for their big day!  Please take a look at the highlights and some of our fav’s from Ashley and Steve’s 11-11-11 wedding!

I wasn’t ready for the energy this group had, they where all so fun and ready to do anything I asked!  You’ve gotta love friends and family in a large group who will happily move and pose and listen to every command!  Gina and Jon where so warm and welcoming along with their friends.  When there is a large group for bridal portraits it’s alway a little bit tougher…This group came running and stood where I told them to and just worked it for the camera!  Gina and Jon had so much fun at their wedding along with their friends who I believe never left the dance floor.  This was the first Aquaris wedding I’ve shot where the ceremony was out doors and that made for some cool scenery with the Colorado River running through the back ground!  Take a look at some of my favorites from this super fun wedding :)

With many weddings things tend to go down a little differently.  Sometimes things run late, the weather can affect events running smoothly or certain times of year the sun goes down a little too soon!  At Lauren and Nicks wedding although we got some really amazing shots when it was dark Lauren and Nick didn’t get a chance to get some portraits of themselves in any sunlight at all.  So we all headed out for a little fun in the sun if you will and mixed things up a bit!

Another little interesting side note to Lauren and Nicks wedding was that they never got to the cake cutting.  So Lauren did what any bride would do……..or would they? ;)  She saved the cake, not letting Nick even taste it, she saved it so we could get together photograph it and then destroy it.  At most weddings one common thing we always notice is the Bride and Groom don’t always get to enjoy their dinner, so we thought let’s capture this bride and groom at least enjoying some post wedding grub!  Check out our pics of Lauren and Nick living it up in their wedding attire newly married!

From the moment we photographed Lindsey and Nate in Oatman Arizona a few months back we couldn’t wait for the opportunity to shoot their big day!  Lindsey has this ridiculously gorgeous smile that spans ear to ear so you literally can’t take a bad photograph of her.  I’ve never seen a bride not take her eyes off her groom an entire ceremony until meeting Lindsey, there is so much love and happiness when these two are together that it is really tremendous to see!  I had the opportunity of getting to do a reveal and a little early morning shooting of the two of them and Nate was so nervous about seeing his gorgeous bride it had to be the sweetest thing I’d ever seen.

How could I forget all the details…….

Lindsey had been working on every single detail of her wedding for I believe “years”.  I’ve never seen so many adorable hand picked, home-made and hand-made gems in one place before.  We all had so much fun just shooting the details even before there where people there!  The setting was beautiful, simple, elegant and sincere.  Set in a family member of Nate’s home, where the guests where encouraged to roam around where they where comfortable.  I think my favorite part of the whole event was going through the pictures and remembering from seeing the images just how much these two couldn’t take their eyes off each other!  Lindsey and Nate it was a pleasure to photograph you and witness your love first hand!

Tona and Julie booked us over the phone almost two years out from their wedding date, which is pretty rare here in Mohave County.  Tona knew what she was looking for in a photographer as she herself snaps pics for a living.  This was the first ever same sex marriage we’ve ever shot and it was so nice to see genuine love and friends and family who supported it!  I’ll never forget Tona’s first question to me,  she said “Do you have a problem photographing same sex marriages?”  Ofcourse not I said!  Why would it effect us what your preference is, we just always want the best for our couples and truly enjoy seeing people on love no matter what the circumstance!  Regardless families and love comes in all shapes, sizes and colors!!  Tona and Julie did such a great job, and had a nice, simple yet super fun wedding.  With lots of little surprises like the RAINBOW CAKE!  Yes it was amazing and tasted fantastic, I mean when do you get to see something like that?  Laughlin Ranch always does a gorgeous job and the setting does quite well for some pretty fantastic photos.  Please take a look through some of my favorites of Tona and Julie from their wedding at Laughlin Ranch.

Shooting a good friends wedding is always a special privilege.  Mistie and Nick our good friends of ours and we couldn’t be more honored that they chose us to capture their big day!  With a fun mix of people (half being from France)  this wedding was definitely a party!  The marriage of Mistie and Nick was super unique as they honored their daughter throughout their entire ceremony.  With a mixture of their fun family and friends dancing it up and toasting their love all the way till the grand finale pool jump, yes fully clothed this wedding was such a blast!  Please check out some of our favorites from their beautiful day.

When we first met Alyssa it was over Skype!  Yes she was our first Skype bride, it was so cool to connect with a future client that way and surprisingly we have made a few skype consultations since!  Alyssa was busy planning her wedding while Kasey was over seas in the service.  Like any bride on the day of she was a little stressed but in good spirits and enjoying her day.  Kasey and Alyssa had a simple little wedding and got to have full use of the Avi Golf Course which can make for some truly amazing pictures.  We grabbed some of our most favorite to share here on our blog.

With wedding season in full bloom here in Lake Havasu we’ve got tons of pics to sort through, we really couldn’t wait to get back to our computers on that late late night on October 8th as we knew there where some truly terrific shots!  This wedding had some really great style with most of the leg work done by the bride and groom it really shows in every detail.  With the later sunsets this time of year we were pressed for our portraits after the ceremony but with some quick creativity in lighting we got some super stellar shots that really gave their look a magazine style.  Lauren was such a striking bride with a breath-taking gown it was so great to be so lucky to shoot her!  Nick and his groomsmen adorned Volcom Suits with old school Vans slip-ons which was so fun!  Gotta love when the guys have their style uniqueness thrown into a wedding.   We really felt the genuine love and warmth from the family and friends that attended Lauren and Nicks reception.  There was some pretty tear jerking moments as we got to listen in and capture special moments shared by their close friends and Laurens’ father during the speeches.  These types of moments at wedding receptions really create great candid photos, the hugs, tears and smiles really paint some beautiful memories.  Lauren and Nick’s photos turned out about 5 ga-jallion that we wanted to share, however to sum it up we’ve got the following preview.  Please take a look at our latest completed 2011 wedding!

Who’d have ever thought Pirates Cove would be an amazing wedding location?  We all know how much fun it can be and what a gorgeous environment Pirates is.  But man you’ve got to read on to see the beautiful images that we captured at a recent wedding at the famous bar and grill.  Enter Nicole and Matthew a super down to earth, low key kick back couple.  Surrounded by a great group of friends and family on this hopefully last warm wedding of the season (temp 107 that day) shooting this group was so much fun.  Nicole and Matt literally got married in the sand and it couldn’t have been more gorgeous.  The completely unique floral decor provided by Interior Gardens of Lake Havasu also contributed to a major beauty factor and the food that Pirates cooked up was mighty tasty.  It was as elegant and inspired as any wedding should be with the laid back feel of a back yard gathering of close friends.  We where truly thrilled that Nicole and Matt picked us!
